The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has formally charged 39-year-old Quita Dolo Kosso in connection with a major drug trafficking operation following her arrest at Roberts International Airport. On July 12, Kosso arrived from Bangkok, Thailand, when LDEA officers discovered 3.355 kilograms of cocaine concealed in her luggage — a haul with an estimated street value of US $181,008.
Following the seizure, Mrs. Kosso reportedly fell ill during initial questioning. Her legal team, led by Cllrs. Lafayette Gould and Julius R. Addy, requested and received medical clearance. She was subsequently treated at JFK Medical Center before being returned to LDEA custody.
On July 21, the LDEA formally charged her under Liberia’s Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, citing trafficking, importation, possession, and criminal conspiracy—all classified as non-bailable offences under the revised law. She was forwarded to the RIA Magisterial Court to face formal prosecution.
The LDEA emphasized the operation as part of its ongoing mission to dismantle transnational drug networks, urging public support for the role of law enforcement in safeguarding national security.
