Liberia-Lofa-Dedication Boakai Dedicates Key Lofa Infrastructure; Lawmakers Donate 64 Motorbikes for Service Delivery

President Joseph Boakai officially dedicated three vital development projects in Lofa County, projects fully funded by the Office of Liberia’s Deputy Speaker, Hon. Thomas P. Fallah. The momentous occasion also saw the Lofa County Legislative Caucus donate 64 motorbikes to local officials, a move aimed at bolstering service delivery across the vast region.

The newly dedicated facilities, situated at the St. Paul Bridge in Beyan Town, Salayea Administrative District, include a modern Beyan’s Town Police Station, a comprehensive Lofa County Rest-Stop Center, and a new Mini-Market. These initiatives are designed to directly address critical community needs, enhancing public safety, improving convenience for travelers, and stimulating local economic activities.

Serving as the Chief Guest of Honor and Dedicatory Orator, President Boakai lauded the projects as “impactful interventions” that directly contribute to the welfare of ordinary citizens. “These developments are commendable. The police station will strengthen security, the rest-stop center provides convenience for travelers, and the mini-market gives our people an opportunity to do business. I congratulate Hon. Fallah for this exceptional work,” President Boakai stated, commending the Deputy Speaker for his meaningful leadership in his home county.

The inspiration for the Lofa County Rest-Stop Center emerged in 2021 when Deputy Speaker Fallah, during a rainy welcome program in Beyan Town, personally experienced the lack of adequate shelter for attendees. Construction of the multi-purpose center began in January 2025 and was completed within six months, now featuring a modern rest area for travelers and events, a mini-market to promote small businesses, and a fully functioning police post for the Liberia National Police.

In a separate, but equally significant gesture of support for local operations, the Lofa County Legislative Caucus presented 64 motorbikes to various officials. Beneficiaries included District Education Officers (DEOs), the County Education Officer (CEO), County Superintendents, commissioners, and other government agents working across Lofa’s diverse districts. Witnessed by President Boakai, the donation is expected to significantly enhance mobility, monitoring, and overall service delivery in the county’s often hard-to-reach areas.

Speaking at the dedication, Deputy Speaker Fallah emphasized that his contributions were not driven by political motives but by a deep-seated commitment to fulfill pledges made to his people. “This is our home. We must not always wait for government budget lines to act. When we can, we must give back. I am grateful to God for the strength and to the people of Lofa for their support,” Hon. Fallah articulated, highlighting a philosophy of local self-reliance and community investment.
