STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Global technology firm Hexagon has announced the launch of AEON, an advanced humanoid robot designed to help bridge labor gaps across various industries. The company stated that AEON is set to begin working in live industrial settings later this year.

Unveiled at Hexagon’s flagship Hexagon LIVE Global event on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, AEON has been specifically engineered by Hexagon’s newly established Robotics division to meet real-world customer needs. It combines Hexagon’s expertise in measurement technologies, AI-driven mission control, and spatial intelligence with advanced locomotion to deliver exceptional agility, versatility, and awareness.

AEON’s capabilities are tailored for a wide range of industrial applications, including manipulation, asset inspection, digital reality capture, and operator support. According to Hexagon, the robot is designed to complement existing workforces and address the increasing complexity of manufacturing and logistics, particularly in the face of global labor shortages.

Hexagon is partnering with leading manufacturers such as Schaeffler and Pilatus to pilot AEON in their production environments. These pilot deployments will validate the humanoid’s performance across various use cases, including machine tending and part inspection.
