Trump Announces Israel-Iran Ceasefire, But No Confirmation from Parties Involved

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Iran have agreed to a permanent ceasefire, signaling a possible end to the intense 12-day conflict that has raised global alarm. The announcement was made via a statement on Trump’s social media page early Monday.
According to President Trump, both sides have consented to a phased cessation of hostilities—beginning with a 12-hour unilateral pause in attacks by Iran, followed by a similar move from Israel, leading to a full 24-hour halt in fighting and a pathway toward a permanent ceasefire.
“This marks the end of the 12-day war,” Trump wrote, without providing further details on how the agreement was brokered or enforced.
However, neither the Israeli government nor Iranian officials have publicly confirmed the agreement. Israel’s Ministry of Defense declined to comment on Trump’s remarks, and Iranian state media has not yet reported any formal truce.
The conflict escalated earlier this month following U.S.-backed Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. In retaliation, Iran launched missile attacks on U.S. military bases in Qatar and Iraq. While both sides have sustained damage, exact casualty figures remain unverified, and the situation has drawn urgent calls for de-escalation from global powers.
