KIGALI, Rwanda – Rwanda has officially announced its national squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Sitting Volleyball Championships. The crucial tournament, recognized as the World ParaVolley Africa Zonal Championship, is scheduled to take place from July 4 to 9 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, Kenya.
National team coach Mosaad Elaiuty has been overseeing preparations, with reports indicating a provisional squad has been in training, soon to be trimmed to the final 14 players for both the men’s and women’s teams. This championship will bring together numerous nations from across the continent, all fiercely competing for continental honors.
A significant incentive for all participating teams is the clear pathway to the global stage. Both the men’s and women’s finalists at the Nairobi event will secure automatic qualification for the 2026 Sitting ParaVolley World Championships, set to be held in Hangzhou, China. Rwanda’s delegation aims to leverage their rigorous preparations to earn these coveted spots and represent the nation at the highest level of para-volleyball next year.
