Côte d’Ivoire Earns Top Marks from World Bank for Fund Disbursement

The World Bank has expressed strong satisfaction with Côte d’Ivoire’s management of its substantial $5 billion project portfolio, with the institution’s Regional Vice President for Western and Central Africa, Ousmane Diagana, praising the nation’s “strong performance” and its top ranking for disbursements across the sub-region.
Diagana’s commendation followed a meeting with Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé on Monday, where discussions centered on the quality of their partnership and the country’s effective utilization of development funding. He highlighted that Côte d’Ivoire’s leading position in disbursements opens new prospects as the country finalizes its next National Development Plan.
The World Bank’s extensive portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire spans crucial development areas, including enhancing human capital, bolstering the agricultural value chain, improving infrastructure, fostering private sector growth, and strengthening resilience to climate shocks. Diagana reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to continued collaboration, providing essential knowledge, advice, and financial resources to support Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious development agenda.
