Organized by the Liberia Trade and Investment Commission in Canada, the mission targets Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)—a core pillar among the Ministry’s eight reform priorities under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.

The delegation, which included House Committee on Education Chair Hon. Nyahn G. Flomo and Senior Presidential Advisor Prof. Augustine Konneh, toured Mohawk’s skilled trades and applied research facilities before convening a working session with Mohawk College President Paul Armstrong, Associate Vice President for International Thea Laidman, and Global Markets Manager Ricardo Rivera.

As one of Ontario's largest apprenticeship trainers, Mohawk’s institutional model integrates private-sector employers directly into curriculum design, pairing classroom instruction with mandatory workplace experience and industry-driven research.

To formalize long-term cooperation, Minister Jallah presented a draft Memorandum of Understanding to Mohawk leadership. Technical teams from both institutions are now establishing operational frameworks focused on four priority areas: instructor development, employer-linked training design, structured apprenticeship pathways, and post-graduation enterprise creation.
